A journey to Indian Restaurant in JAPAN…

After getting bored with noodles, after trying raw fish (susi) I have decided to have a dinner in Indian restaurant named Arati Restaurant. My one colleague and me searched the map to the restaurant, on the net. We left the office on 7:00PM and started walking along the streets (Believe me I got the toughest time in life to get that restaurant.). As I entered in the restaurant I was on the nineth cloud to hear NAMASTE and song tere liye but my clouds got vapored out when I saw the pricelist for Indian food. (1000Rs for chana masala and 200 for nan.) We have ordered 1 Chana Masala , 1 Paneer Masala, and 3 nan and then started some gupsup . Very soon we became very friendly with restaurant owner (he have been in Japan since 1996) and he started asking us about India. He was memorizing his childhood, his best time in school, and many things. He also inquired the price of CHAY in India. I saw the pain in his eye but didn’t dare to ask why he was in Japan.

Then the most exciting incident occur I saw Dr. Y N Mohapatra(prof. IIT Kanpur,Physics Department)(remember PHY102N). He was in Japan for some conference. I have introduced myself to him and started conversation. He offered me Paneer Tikka and then started giving lectures on values and ethics.(it was very boring)(only thing I remember is what he said to his Japanese friend “our student is everywhere in the world”). Suddenly I heard the voice of owner informing about my food. When we were leaving the restaurant I got very pleasant bye from Mohapatra and concession for 1 nan.
It was one of the best experience in Japan...
